Emergency Management Training Modules

We ensure you meet Australian Standard AS-3745 2010 - 'Planning for Emergencies in Facilities' by developing and delivering at the necessary intervals the mandatory training modules that you require. Through the consultation process, we develop your training plan 12 months in advance. This alleviates the pressure on your staff to meet your obligations and allows them to focus on their relevant tasks and roles.

Emergency Planning Committee

The establishment of your Emergency Planning Committee is the foundation of your Work, Heath and Safety obligations with respect to Emergency Planning & Management. Incredibly, many organisations fail to meet this standard and expose their Directors, owners and staff to civil or criminal prosecution. This is akin to failing to insure against Public Liability claims.

Allow us to Chair your meeting, minute the meeting and guide you through the process which for most businesses that have failed to implement the EPC, is a daunting one.  We will advise you on the establishment of the committee, how to identify a 'competent' person and retain the records for compliance after each annual meeting.

Emergency Control Organisation - Chief Warden, Wardens, Deputies and Communication Officers

We will deliver industry-leading dynamic training courtesy of our trainers that have energy, confidence and presence. Once again, we strategically stagger each module to meet your requirements under AS 3745 and focus on delivering value to your team(s). We know that time spent honing their professional skills takes them away from their primary function, but rest assured they will be engaged and motivated to enact their key learnings to ensure a safer, more prepared worksite.

The modules that we offer include:

    Warden Training (Initial or Refresher)

    Chief Warden (Initial or Refresher)

    First Attack Fire Fighting

    Occupant Skills Retention

    ECO Skills Retention

    Emergency Response Exercise

Emergency Management Plan

The formulation and maintenance of your unique Emergency Management Plan is critical in ensuring that you have documented procedures in the event of an emergency within your facility. Additionally, it will document your organisations strategies and systems in relation to your response and management of the emergency. The onus of responsibility is bestowed upon the Emergency Planning Committee (EPC) to ensure the Emergency Management Plan is maintained and with the assistance of the Emergency Control Organisation (ECO), that is is suitably implemented.

The Emergency Management Plan is a comprehensive document and whilst you can attempt to generate a version yourself, Safety Skills can expertly prepare it on your behalf to avoid non-compliance and Director liability.

Evacuation Diagrams

Allow us to design and if necessary, install your sites Evacuation Diagrams to ensure you are providing emergency and evacuation information within your facility for the benefit of your occupants and visitors. The number of diagrams, coupled with their location is the responsibility of the EPC, but once again Safety Skills will provide expert guidance to aid you in the decision-making process. You must adhere to specific requirements with respect to the height of the displayed diagram, its size and orientation plus most importantly, the content of which there prescribed minimum elements. Allow Safety Skills to conduct a site visit to thoroughly assess your facility and document all relevant data points to formulate your diagrams. They must be maintained and amended to reflect any changes to floor plans, egress routes, emergency equipment, etc. They have a maximum lifespan of 5 years and it is the responsibility of the EPC to audit them on an annual basis.
