Legislation Standards

Standards

We ensure you meet Australian Standard AS-3745 2010 - 'Planning for Emergencies in Facilities' by developing and delivering at the necessary intervals the mandatory training modules that you require. Through the consultation process, we develop your training plan 12 months in advance. This alleviates the pressure on your staff to meet your obligations and allows them to focus on their relevant tasks and roles.

Emergency Planning Committee

Emergency Planning Committee

The establishment of your Emergency Planning Committee is the foundation of your Work, Heath and Safety obligations with respect to Emergency Planning & Management. Incredibly, many organisations fail to meet this standard and expose their Directors, owners and staff to civil or criminal prosecution. This is akin to failing to insure against Public Liability claims.

Allow us to Chair your meeting, minute the meeting and guide you through the process which for most businesses that have failed to implement the EPC, is a daunting one.  We will advise you on the establishment of the committee, how to identify a 'competent' person and retain the records for compliance after each annual meeting.

Chief Warden, Wardens, Deputies and Communication Officers

We will deliver industry-leading dynamic training courtesy of our trainers that have energy, confidence and presence. Once again, we strategically stagger each module to meet your requirements under AS 3745 and focus on delivering value to your team(s). We know that time spent honing their professional skills takes them away from their primary function, but rest assured they will be engaged and motivated to enact their key learnings to ensure a safer, more prepared worksite.

Our Modules

We offer each of these modules both as standalone sessions and in bundles. Please contact us to receive your personalised training program.

 Warden  Training

Warden training is provided to all members of the ECO and it is the foundation of emergency response. They will be trained on the four pillars that are Prevention, Preparation, Response and Recovery to an emergency. Your team will be made acutely aware of their functionality, purpose and the expectations placed upon them throughout the emergency life cycle.

Chief  Warden

An extension to the Warden module is our Chief Warden session which equips your nominated leaders with the skills and knowledge to effectively lead and manage an ECO through ALL stages of the emergency cycle. We encourage clients to train multiple persons so that you have sufficient coverage during periods of absence of your Chief Warden due to annual leave, sickness, professional development etc.

First  Attack  Fire  Fighting

We will impart the knowledge and demonstrate each person's ability to effectively use the portable firefighting equipment in your facility. This module explains the classes of fire as well as the appropriate response to each and what equipment within your facility they can, if trained and it is safe to do so, use to extinguish a fire.

Eco Skills Retention

First Response Fire Training is the basic information every employee needs to know about the workplace that will assist them in evacuating in the event of an emergency. Each employee must know how to use each piece of portable firefighting equipment located in your workplace, should the worst occur. They also need to understand the warning tones or alerts used to announce an evacuation and if this occurs, what signs to follow and where to meet when they escape.

Occupant  Skills  Retention

In workplaces, occupants should participate in skills retention activities at intervals not greater than 12 months, to enable them to act in accordance with the emergency response procedures. The session will address how to respond to alarms or emergencies, procedures for certain emergencies as contained in the emergency response procedures within your emergency management plan and how to identify your ECO.

Emergency  Response  Exercise

Conducting routine site-specific emergency response exercises allows each facility to determine the effectiveness of their emergency response procedures. We will plan your exercise in consultation with your EPC and fulfil the role of "Observer" to measure your team's response against a checklist to identify and record any deficiencies. You must conduct an exercise within the first 12 months of the EPC being established, ECO trained, and emergency response procedures determined. Subsequently, an exercise must be conducted every 12 months.
